Palm Sunday Mass at St Mark’s

A Message to parishioners from Fr Michael McLean PP EV

Dear Parishioners, I speak to you at a difficult time for our world our families and for our Church. I want to assure you that St Marks Parish is here for you at this difficult time.Mass is celebrated each day for you, your family and our world in our closed Parish Church of St Mark’s. There is no distance in love, and we are all united in prayer, love and support for each other in these challenging times. Though we need to keep a distance from each other physically we are all united in the Lord Jesus especially in these holy days of Lent and Easter when we celebrate Christs Death and Resurrection. As I said in my message on the Parish website last week.
“we will overcome present difficulties and come out of the tomb of isolation and social distancing to new life.”
Please contact us by phone or email at any time.
We will seek to keep the parish office open and be available to you during these times of challenge. The Sacrament of Penance (Confession, Reconciliation) is available by appointment. Contact the Parish office and a time and place will be allocated to you – no need to leave your name.
Our local St Vincent de Paul Conference and CatholicCare are ready to help in any way – so if you or your family need help please let us know – if you know of anyone – possibly an elderly neighbour or a family doing it tough please contact us. Local charities are at the ready to assist. During this time when we cannot celebrate public Masses, though we can be nourished by the ‘Word of God’ in the Scriptures, in our daily prayer and we can make a ‘spiritual communion’ at any time.
The prayer of the Pope when he gave his Urbi et Orbi
Blessing for the ‘city and the world’ last Friday in Rome prayed “Lord, you are calling on us to seize this time of trial as a time of choosing. It is not the time of your judgment, But of our judgment:

We hold up to the Lord all those suffering and sick at this time, to those who are caring for them and all those who seek to keep us safe and well during this time. View our weekly parish bulletin for more information.
May God be with you all. Michael McLean PP EV
