Christmas is about the love of God which our loving Father made visible and real with the birth of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This was made possible because of the openness and trust of a young woman Mary. Mary said ‘yes’ to God when the Angel Gabriel asked her to be The Mother of God by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the Annunciation.
Mary is the model of faith for us in her openness to God and in the workings of the Holy Spirit in her life.
We need to let Jesus into our lives and let the Holy Spirit lead and guide us in our lives. Jesus was born in simplicity and humbleness in a manger.
We have special opportunities to open our hearts to those in need during this Holy Season through the support of the Christmas Appeal of the St Vincent de Paul Society and many other opportunities to be generous and kind.
During Advent and Christmastide season we celebrate the presence of God in our lives. St Mark’s has some special occasions to help you and your family appreciate the gift of Jesus in our lives. I invite you and your families to take part and come to our celebrations listed in our Advent Bulletin.
Keep an eye on the parish bulletin for our latest parish happenings.
May the joy and peace of this Holy Season be with you and your family and friends. view our Christmas Masses here and we look forward to welcoming you to St Mark’s Church and Parish Community.
