Our parish has a unique facility in the Memorial Chapel, enabling us to have our ashes, or those of our deceased relatives, placed in a blessed space.

St Mark’s Parish established the Chapel in 1994.

The Memorial Chapel is located in what was previously the Nun’s Chapel, extending from the southern side of the sanctuary (Sacred Heart side).

The Memorial Chapel ensures a resting place for those parishioners who have had a close relationship with St Mark’s, as well as perpetuating their memory and link with the parish.

It is the practice of the parish to celebrate Mass for each of the deceased on the occasion of the placement of their ashes in the Chapel, followed by the Rite of Final Disposition of Ashes, which is celebrated within the Chapel with the family.

Mass for all the deceased interned in the Columbarium is offered twice a year.
